The Gustavus Adolphus College Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) prepares students for fulfilling lives of leadership and service in athletic training. Grounded in 30 years of educational experience and full accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), the ATEP at Gustavus Adolphus College is recognized for a combination of in-depth classroom experiences and application of theory through varied clinical experiences.
Completion of the ATEP fulfills the requirements of the Board of Certification (BOC) for sitting for the national certification examination. Acceptance into the ATEP is competitive. Criteria for selection are provided within this website.
Dr. Stephanie Otto, assistant professor, HES, along with senior, Briana Hewitt, are collaborating on a research project entitled "Nutritional practices of Coaches in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference". This study was recently accepted for presentation at the NACSM conference spring 2009.
