I teach a variety of courses, including Reading and Writing Essays, Intermediate Composition, Teaching Writing: Theory and Practice, and Secondary English Methods for CA/LT majors. All of my courses focus on writing issues, nd I pay particular attention to the ways that our identities shape our reading and writing practices.
I'm working on a project called Toward a Rhetoric of Reading: Understanding Encounters with Students' Texts, and I'm collaborating with faculty from several other liberal arts colleges to study the ways that attending a liberal arts college affects students' writing skills. During the summer I enjoy taking road trips on our Honda Goldwing, riding my bike with my two little boys, and gardening.
