General Information
Kristofer B. Kracht graduated from the University of Mary, ND, in 2000 with a B.S. in Communication. He received his M.S. in Communication Studies and Journalism from South Dakota State University in 2002 where he hosted the Interstate Oratorical Association National Contest, which is the oldest annual public speaking competition in North America. Kristofer joined the Department of Communication Studies in the fall of 2002. He has been involved in forensics for 15 years as both a competitor and coach. Kristofer currently serves as Governor of the Pi Kappa Delta Province of the Northern Lights, is a member of the Valley Forensic League Executive Committee, and serves on the tournament staff for the American Forensic Association National Individual Events Tournament. He has also served on the AFA District IV Executive Committee and the Minnesota Collegiate Forensic Association Executive Committee.
In 2006, Kristofer was awarded the Pi Kappa Delta Bob Derryberry Award for Outstanding New Forensics Educator and in 2009, he earned the Pi Kappa Delta Brightest Star Award recognizing exemplary performance in promoting not only forensics as a vital collegiate activity, but also outstanding work in promoting Pi Kappa Delta and its values.
Under Kristofer's leadership, the program has risen to national prominence. Gustavus is one of fourteen schools to be nationally ranked three consecutive years. Gustavus earned back-to-back Minnesota Collegiate Forensics Association State Championships in 2008 and 2009. Kristofer has coached three American Forensic Association National Individual Events Tournament All-Americans.

Assistant coach Josh Forsythe graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2000 with a degree in political science. Josh joined the team in 2006 and helps with both individual events and parliamentary debate. He has been involved in collegiate forensics and debate for 11 years as a competitor, judge and coach.
