Applications for Spring ALASKA Student Teaching, application fee, program commitment deposit and study abroad forms due to Debra Sandquist

March 1

CICE Applications for Semester and Year-long programs due to the CICE office. Starting with the 2010-2011 Application Cycle, CICE will use a NEW Application System called STUDIO ABROAD.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis (except for Gustavus faculty led programs). Applications for fall submitted at the March 1 deadline will be reviewed first, followed by Spring applications.

Fall applicants will be notifed via STUDIO ABROAD/EMAIL of their approval

Spring applicants will be notified via STUDIO ABROAD/EMAIL of their approval.

March/April/May

Fall term and Academic Year students complete the host institution application and meet with the study abroad advisor. Note: Some host institution application deadlines for fall term/academic year are as early as March 15 (particularly for southern hemisphere locations.) For these programs, apply to CICE for off-campus study approval as early as you can in order to allow ample time to complete and return the host institution application.

Students planning to study abroad in the fall receive individualized Cost Estimates for Study Abroad via email.

April 15

Applications to be a Peer Advisor due to Jill Fischer.

Mid-April

Academic Year and Fall Semester study abroad students register for Study Abroad (during the regular registration time period).

April - May

DATES TDB. Fall and Academic Year students complete the MANDATORY online study abroad orientation.

May

DATE TBD. Fall Term and Academic year student Send-Off Party and gathering with past participants.

June 1

Fall Term and Academic Year participants - deadline for submission of all CICE forms and information*.

*Flight itineraries and passport photocopies to be submitted by this date or as soon as they are available. Off Campus Program Commitment Forms to be submitted by the deadline given to you in your Deposit Due email.

Spring Term students submit host institution applications to the Study Abroad Advisor. Meet with the Advisor as able.

Spring term students request updated transcripts (with updated Spring semester grades) to be sent to CICE.

Students planning to study abroad in the spring receive individualized Cost Estimates for Study Abroad via email.

Deadline for submission of program evaluations from the previous spring and academic year.

Minnesota Re-entry Conference - for any student who has studied abroad. Dates, times locations to be announced!

CVR / CICE retreat - for study abroad returnees. Dates, times locations to be announced!

STUDIO ABROAD goes live! CICE and Gustavus Faculty-Led Semester Program Applications available for 2010-2011 Semester and Year-Long programs.

November 17, 2009 4 - 7 pm, Semester and Year-Long International and Domestic Off-Campus Proram Fair and Passport Services in Heritage and St. Peter rooms, Campus Center.
