Application and General Information

 
 

The following will be required when you apply to a Gustavus January Interim course:

  • The Gustavus January General information Document page, and the application, must be read/completed by you and your parents, printed from the website, signed, stapled and submitted to the Center for International and Cultural Education.
  • A Personal Essaymust be submitted to the Center for International and Cultural Education: At least a one printed page essay of what you hope to learn from participating in this particular course, enumerating your academic objectives.  Describe how this course will help you learn about the culture and people of the place(s) you will be visiting.  Be specific and detailed in your objectives and description.
  • An Unofficial Transcript must be submitted with application to the Center for International and Cultural Education.
  • Application completed online, printed and signed by all parties.
    • A good time to have your application signed by your course instructor will be at the January Term Off-Campus Course Fair.
      • Date: April 7, 2009
      • Time: 4-6 p.m.
      • Place: Heritage Room, Campus Center
  • $360 application/deposit fee in check made out to Gustavus.
  • You must be in good academic and financial standing at Gustavus Adolphus College.
  • Applications will not be accepted unless ALL application materials are fully completed, signed by all parties, and submitted at the same time.

The January Term Interim Off Campus Course pink sheet, listing all courses and costs, will be available on our website and at the Center for International and Cultural Education, Student Activities Office and the Campus Library on March 17.

All application materials for January Interim courses are available online on April 1. At that time, you can open the following links and fill out the application document online. Hit Print button on completed form. Obtain all signatures on hard copy. Turn in the completed/signed original and two copies of the application and the original and two copies of the application materials, plus the $360 to the Center for International and Cultural Education. First registration date is April 15. Signatures of course instructors can be obtained for your application form at the Off-Campus Fair, April 7, 2009 from 4-6p.m. in the Heritage Room.

Before clicking the following application links please note: ALL students will need a passport to travel (flying or driving) even to Canada and Mexico. If you do not yet have a passport, the County Recorder will be processing passport applications at the Gustavus January Off-Campus Course Fair , April 7, 2009, from 4-6pm in the Heritage Room. Stop by the Center for International and Cultural Education (CICE) to find out what material you need to apply for a passport. CICE will need copies of your passport by July 1, 2009.
