Travelers throughout history have attempted to record their experiences and encounters for a variety of reasons: Purposeful reflection, historical markers, contemporary glimpses into people and cultures, aesthetic pleasures, and, of course, personal memories. Gustavus students are no different from Lewis and Clark, Geoffrey Chaucer, Petrarch, Samuel Johnson, Rebecca West , John Steinbeck and Evelyn Waugh. These images and reflections have the potential for you, the viewer, to ponder the world with all its truths, whimsy and wonder. For the Gustavus students who have created these photographs, these pages will affirm their successful journeys. Enjoy!
