If you are interested in research participation before your senior year but can not work Independent Study into your schedule, contact a faculty member or your advisor to inquire about your options.

To learn more about specific research projects individual faculty members are doing, review Gustavus Chemistry Faculty Research. Faculty members are happy to discuss their research. They can suggest things you might read to understand a research area better. Preliminary reading is a part of any research effort - every researcher does some before deciding to embark on a project. You can certainly do the same.
