The Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program entitled Hooked on Photonics, is one way MDITR accomplishes these goals. By facilitating research experiences for undergraduates amongst groups with diverse research capabilities and interests, the REU program provides new, novel learning experiences that can play a key role in encouraging students to continue with graduate work in photonics. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FIELD
I know that many of you are still searching for a summer job or employment post-graduation. Finding the right Job posting can be random so to increase your odds I emcourage you to look often and be geographically flexible. Call or seek out connections even if the start dates do not fit your schedule. One never knows, if one does not ask. Also, making connections may pay off in the future. Check out Pam Kittelson's web site with links to the jobs and seasonal positions related to ecology and botany. http://homepages.gac.edu/~pkittels/biolinks.html Even if you are not a botanist, some of the positions listed under botany are animal related jobs. Once you are in a site, click on other side-bar links for seasonal positions.
